I live with my husband and crazy kitty. Much of my time is spent writing, reading, and playing with the grands. You can usually find me sipping tea or coffee, nibbling on dark chocolate, and contemplating what to plant next in the garden. If not those pursuits, then I am probably trying to figure out how to cook and live in an RV, creating cards with rubber stamps, walking, hiking, or out snapping photos with my camera.
She does look like she’s brooding! What an excellent close up shot! I love how I can see her pink and white feathers along with her gray. I like your alliteration and assonance in your haiku. Statuesque is the perfect word! Is it a gray heron? I photographed one once at a close by creek, but not any of my photos were as great as yours! Have you considered entering it in a wildlife or bird contest?
Thank you, Gail! I think it is a grey heron, though I don’t know enough about them to tell for sure (or if it’s a girl or boy). I’m enjoying using my zoom lens for close-ups. And honestly, she would have preferred I leave her alone…so she let me get quite close, and then begrudgingly flew off about 20 feet. So I just followed her and took more pictures! LOL. I think it would be fun to enter a photo contest with it. Any ideas? I’ll have to research that one. Thanks again!
