a blizzard in May,

cottonwoods are cottoning;

warm flakes unmelting

Welcome to May cottonwood season! No deep breaths, wide open mouths, or keeping fluffs away from your face. Still digging out!

Wednesday is the Happy Hump Day Haiku Challenge! I’d love to read your Haiku, especially if it revolves around nature, kids, or family.

Happy Hump Day!

Author: Angie

I live with my husband and crazy kitty. Much of my time is spent writing, reading, and playing with the grands. You can usually find me sipping tea or coffee, nibbling on dark chocolate, and contemplating what to plant next in the garden. If not those pursuits, then I am probably trying to figure out how to cook and live in an RV, creating cards with rubber stamps, walking, hiking, or out snapping photos with my camera.

  1. The icy air burns
    Outside is close to freezing
    Just like in my fridge 😂 ❄

    • Do you live in the northwest? Your Haiku sounds like our weather this morning! Perfect! 🙂 A few weeks ago it was near 100…now back to sweaters and heaters!

      • Nope – I’m in Australia, so today was our first day of Winter! ❄ (I think our weather is pretty similar to the northwest US, just opposite in season!)

  2. Oh, I’ve always wanted to visit Australia! Yes, I’ve heard we have similar weather. So happy winter!
