Silent Night, The wonderful story of the beloved Christmas carol
Written by Brigitte Weninger

NorthSouth Books, 2018 English translation
I adore Christmas music. And Christmas books. When I recently replied to an email from NorthSouth Books, sharing which book I would love to read (from a generous list of choices), I won a copy of Silent Night, The wonderful story of the beloved Christmas carol. Merry Christmas to me!
Gorgeously illustrated, this lovely picture book has a longer text, but it easily engaged my attention as I read about the history of the beloved song. Seasonal yes, but I’ve been known to listen to Christmas music nearly any time of the year. Music and history lovers will enjoy reading how the song was born. Enchanting, beautiful, and perfect.
I live with my husband and crazy kitty. Much of my time is spent writing, reading, and playing with the grands. You can usually find me sipping tea or coffee, nibbling on dark chocolate, and contemplating what to plant next in the garden. If not those pursuits, then I am probably trying to figure out how to cook and live in an RV, creating cards with rubber stamps, walking, hiking, or out snapping photos with my camera.

Lucky you, Angie. Perfect gift for Christmas. At an SCBWI conference I personllay met an editor from NordSud, Andrea Naasan. She had said I could send her my MS. But then the pandemic hit.
I checked their submission guidelines and they are closed to unsolicited submissions. Perhaps I couldn’t contact her via email. I have her business card. Perhaps she still remembers me. Who knows. It’s worth a try.

Oh, I think you should still send it! Or did she give directions to hold the press?

Oh, definitely worth a try. Just let her know the circumstances! The pandemic created chaos with everything!

True. But I can’t find her wish list. I may contact her via email. If I manage to sum up the courage to do so.
